6. Over the Rainbow
An a cappella quartet is another standard for a Celtic Woman concert. Though we enjoy all of them, Shannon and I find the blend of vocals in Over the Rainbow to be especially stunning. The unique chording and choice of ensemble is a fresh approach on this well-known song. The voices of Chloë, Méav, Hayley, and Órla are perfect for the romanticism of the piece, and the final chord is especially lovely as it resolves from minor to major. As I listen to the final notes fade into silence, I cannot help but long for my own dreamland up where bluebirds fly.
